Budget Parking has the lowest current official daily maximum at $20. It is a remote uncovered lot with complimentary shuttle transportation.
Best Balance for Longer Trips
Economy Parking costs more than Budget but provides a modern covered garage, frequent 24-hour shuttles and EV charging.
Best for Terminal Convenience
Central Terminal Parking is directly across from the terminals and avoids the remote-lot shuttle process.
Best for Hands-Off Parking
Official LAX Valet is the highest-priced option but minimizes the time spent searching for a space.

Central Terminal Area parking is the closest self-parking option to the passenger terminals. LAX describes Terminal Parking as a short walk from check-in, making it useful for brief visits, pickups, business trips and travelers who prioritize terminal proximity over price.
General Parking Rate
Most CTA garages charge $9 for the first hour, then $7 for each additional 30 minutes, with a $60 maximum per 24 hours.
P3 & P4 Short-Stay Difference
P3 and P4 charge $11 for the first hour and $9 for each additional 30 minutes, while the daily general-parking maximum remains $60.
Free Grace Period
LAX currently lists 10 minutes of free parking for Central Terminal Area general and premium parking—useful for very quick entry and exit, but not for extended passenger waiting.
EV Charging
EV charging is available throughout the CTA garages. Charging has separate session and energy fees, so parking and charging costs should be considered independently.
Terminal parking is the closest self-parking choice; remote LAX Economy and Budget facilities trade convenience for lower daily maximums.

The official Economy garage has more than 4,000 stalls and is designed for overnight and extended stays.
EV Charging
EV charging is available in the Economy garage. LAX currently lists Level 2 and DC fast-charging fees in addition to the parking charge.
Vehicle Clearance
Official LAX information lists a 14-foot clearance on Level 1 and 8 feet 1 inch on Levels 2–4.

Budget Parking is the lowest-priced official LAX drive-up parking option based on the current published daily maximum. It is a remote uncovered lot, so travelers should allow more transfer time than they would with Economy or terminal parking.

EV Charging Rates
LAX currently lists EV charging at $2 per session plus $0.45/kWh for Level 2 and $2 per session plus $0.80/kWh for DC fast charging. There are no idle fees listed. Parking fees still apply.

Accessible spaces are available in LAX parking facilities, but disabled placards and license plates do not provide free airport parking. Posted parking rates apply.
Motorcycle Parking
LAX states that motorcycle parking is free in General Parking and Premium areas of Central Terminal Area parking structures when motorcycles follow the airport’s designated access and parking rules.
Free Cell Phone Waiting Lots
LAX provides two Cell Phone Waiting Lots where motorists can wait free for up to two hours while meeting arriving passengers. Vehicles must remain attended; commercial and ride-service vehicles are not allowed.
When Does Private LAX Car Service Make More Sense Than Parking?
Parking is often the logical choice for travelers who want their own vehicle waiting after the flight. For longer trips, families with luggage, business travelers, early departures or travelers who simply prefer door-to-door transportation, a prearranged chauffeur can remove the need to drive into LAX, find a space, unload bags, wait for a parking shuttle and retrieve the vehicle after returning.
Parking cost alone does not determine which option is cheaper. Compare the entire round trip—including parking days, fuel, driving time, shuttle transfers and the number of passengers—against the confirmed cost of private transportation.
LAX Parking Tips
Compare drive-up and pre-book prices. Official LAX online reservations can be discounted, but prices vary by date and availability.
Add parking transfer time. Budget and Economy users should allow time to park, unload luggage, reach the shuttle stop and travel to the terminal.
Save your parking location. Photograph the structure, floor, section or row so you can find your vehicle after the return flight.
Check real-time airport conditions. Parking availability, roadway construction and terminal traffic can change, especially during holidays and peak periods.
Use the Cell Phone Waiting Lots for pickups. Waiting at the terminal curb is not the right substitute for parking while an arriving passenger is still collecting baggage.
Check vehicle clearance. Large SUVs, vans, roof boxes and oversized vehicles should verify garage height restrictions before entering a structure.
